Great ideas!
By Hello Happy
I loved reading pop up books when I was a kid and how they came to life when you opened them up. I like how the cards in this book are more than just a card, they are like a miniature piece of art. Plus, they also make a lovely keepsake for a loved one, too. I love the cute penguin and gorgeous carousel. I’ve started working on the daffodil card, since it looked a little easier for me than some of the others. I really hope to work up to making the medieval castle!

Fantastic, Three Dimensional Cards made with Basic Tools
By Jenny Berman Ross
I received a free copy of this book to review. i am really impressed that all of the projects in this book can be completed with the provided templates, some craft paper, and a basic toolkit that includes some sharp scissors, a craft knife and a cutting board. No fancy punches, dies or cutting machines are required. The results are fantastic.
There are 30 projects in the book, each one teaches a different technique for making a pop-up card. The projects are arranged with simple projects in the beginning and more complex projects later in the book but all of the instructions are clear and none of the projects appeared to be overly difficult for a patient and careful person.
The designs range from playful cards that would be fun for a child to very sophisticated three dimensional constructions. Some have moving parts or hidden treasures inside. Many of the designs could be incorporated into other projects or used together to create a pop-up book. Enough information is provided about how the designs work so that the techniques could be adapted to other projects or different designs.
Although a patient beginner could use this book, I think that some experience with cutting paper with scissors and craft knives would be helpful. This not a book for young children since even the most basic designs require skill with a craft knife. There are projects that a child could help with like the exploding robot, but none that a child could successfully make on their own. Many of the card designs would delight a child and would be fun to make.

Beautiful book filled with great pop-up card tutorials and patterns
By Stefanie G.
This is a beautiful book filled with great pop-up card tutorials and patterns. I would call most of the cards more like 3-D paper art. They are not your basic pop up cards. There are intricate designs that if you are handy with an x-acto knife you will have a mini masterpiece when you are done. There are some playful designs like robots and dragons that a child will have fun opening over and over. There are a whole variety of construction styles that will surely inspire you to try designs of your own after you make the ones in the book.
