Errors in Practice Tests

Consistent with reviews about the McGraw Hill GMAT Math & Integrated Reasoning book, this "test preparation" book is riddled with errors. They are particularly serious in the Practice Test section, and with Integrated Reasoning in particular. There are two main types of errors: (1) the explanations contradict the answer provided. This means that anyone who gets the answer wrong and investigates further it will realize the book has a mistake, but it leaves one wondering how many of the right answers are actually right. Example - a passage gives information about four manufacturing locations, so you can confirm that all four locations are identified. The answer says that you can't confirm this. But the explanation says you can. (2) Adapted questions are missing essential words or muddle up their units. These are harder to catch, and usually take the form of a missing modifier or a missing conversion. Example - a question gives a total amount of product for a season, but the answer wrongly equates a season with a month. I am sure it is the case that many people complain of errors when they do not fully understand the questions and their answers, but my review is based on errors that are revealed when the book contradicts itself. To me, this is unacceptable in a test preparation book and especially one that lists itself as "the most trusted name in education." Sloppy work.
